The Aim was to substantially extend the living spaces and overcome natural deficiencies in natural light and ventilation. 

Green points include water from the roof is directed to the garden via PVC piping.  Solar hot water panels.  Provision for future voltaic panels on roof. 

Whirly-gigs ventilators on the roof; the shape of the new two storey addition draws hot air up and out.

By adding to the front of the house, the renovation did not cut off the neighbors sunlight.   Retention of most of the existing house.

Favorite Features

The owners favorite features include The work studio and rear deck.  Things the owners would do differently the bathroom turned out to be larger than required.  Tips don't build out the side passages.  Architect David Aitken.
