The original house was a late Victorian single storey brick dwelling, constructed early 1900s, which, fortunately, had effective damp proof courses and cavity wall construction that protects against rising damp and internal wet walls. The high quality bricks were fired at the local St Peters brick works.

The tessellated tiles on the front veranda floors are a high quality imported English tile with Welsh slate that were lovingly cherished by the previous owners.
